Bad News and Good News

The bad news is, we did not get picked to be one of the final ten teams on VH1’s World Series of Popular Culture.

The good news is, now we won’t be able to embarrass any of y’all on national television.

Thanks for rooting for us, anyway.

You sound gracious. I am still hateful and wish a pox on all the other contestents (except for sChoc, of course). Ooh, and a bigger pox on the producers who did not think we were fun enough to be on their damn show.

I don't know who any of the other contestants were, but I do know that I hate them.

No kidding, VH1 stinks.

Actually, VH1, if you're reading this: I love you; you rock (in a totally adult contemporary, Dido or Rob Thomas once an hour, non offensive kind of way). Please don't pass me up for your 6 hours over 3 weeks special, "Favorite Foods of the 80s Strike Back" -- I've totally got some witty stuff to say about Crystal Pepsi, Tab, the McDLT (hot side hot, cold side cold; FREAKING GENUIS!), the virtues of the California Raisins and McDonald's Disney-movie-release-esque approach to marketing the faux-bone shaped ground pork special known affectionately as the McRib.

Jake makes a good point -- VH1 is the same network that had a whole series about "My Favorite Toys" or whatever. Do we really want to be a part of that?

Thanks Cap'n! So far, your comment and my mom saying, "Those crazy people are trash!" are the only things that have helped me. Emilie and Molly, Chinese food does not help, in case you were thinking of trying that.

I tried Chinese food last night. You're right; didn't help. You know what did help? Watching the Lindsay Lohan version of The Parent Trap.

In Her Shoes helped me, as did a whole lot of chocolate. Also have shifted all my anxiety from wanting to be on TV to wanting to buy an apt. Could not afford cable anyway if bought apt in NYC, so is best to distance myself from VH1 now.

We were bummed to hear it. Thanks for still liking us, though. And I agree with Emilie - there's just something about the updated version of the Parent Trap that helps chase the blues away.

This is a network that puts women like this on the air.

I am sad that you all will not be able to show the world how adorable and awesome you are, but I hope y'all know that you were clearly just too smart, classy and beautiful for them.
