The Pursuit of Happyness [sic]

I’m torn.  I want to see The Pursuit of Happyness [sic] because it looks like it will make me cry.  However, the fact that a simple word like “happiness” is misspelled in the title bothers me more than I can express.  What is the point?  Why would such a word be misspelled?  What is the reason?  Could it possibly add anything?  I’m doubtful.

I Googled it and apparently, the reason for the deliberate misspelling is explained in the movie.  I’m willing to take a risk, but all I can say is, it better be a darn good explanation.

My wife will not go see that movie because of the one scene in the trailer where Will Smith is crying and holding the public bathroom door closed with his foot, while his son sleeps. She just can't handle it. "But honey," I say, "there is no way they don't have an uplifting ending and live happyly ever after." :)

You know that's really his son, Jaden, playing his son. I know you saw them on the Today show.
I want to see it!

I agree with you 100 percent. It looks warm and fuzzy but the whole mispelling thing bothers me ... it's like "Kids Kamp" and "Kandlesticks" ... why? I know we discussed this during the first afternoon we met so long ago ... that's when I knew we'd be friends.
